Abstract
This web annex accompanies the second edition of the WHO consolidated guidelines on tuberculosis, Module 6: tuberculosis and comorbidities, and documents the methods and expert consultation processes used to develop recommendations related to tuberculosis and undernutrition. The publication describes the guideline development procedures followed in accordance with WHO standards, including the establishment of the Guideline Steering Group, Guideline Development Group and External Review Group, formulation of PICO questions, conduct of systematic reviews, and application of the GRADE approach for assessing certainty of evidence and strength of recommendations.
The document outlines the evidence review and decision-making processes used to evaluate nutritional interventions and micronutrient supplementation among people with tuberculosis and their household contacts. It also summarizes procedures for assessing feasibility, acceptability, equity, costs and implementation considerations. In addition, the annex provides information on expert group composition, declarations of interest, consensus procedures, publication and dissemination plans, and future guideline updates. The publication serves as a transparency and methodological reference document supporting the development and implementation of WHO tuberculosis guidance.
