Compendium of data and evidence-related tools for use in TB planning and programming

World Health Organization

Abstract

This compendium supports National Tuberculosis Programmes (NTPs) in making effective use of data and evidence for policy, planning and programmatic action. It provides an overview of key tools available to generate, analyse and use data for tuberculosis (TB) programme planning and prioritization, and explains how these tools can be applied in practice.

The tools are presented within the context of the WHO People-centred framework for tuberculosis programme planning and prioritization, which promotes the systematic use of epidemiological, people-centred and system-related data across the continuum of care. The compendium describes the main types of tools, their functions, and considerations for their implementation, and includes standardized profiles and country case studies illustrating their application.

The document is intended to help NTPs and their stakeholders understand how and when to use different tools to identify programmatic gaps, inform decision-making and strengthen TB programme performance at national and subnational levels.
