Abstract

Aim: to study the states of leukocytes by detecting of stages of leukocytes apoptosis (SLA) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PPTB) with different efficacy of intensive phase of treatment (IPT). Materials/methods: 30 patients with PPTB were divided into groups: 1 gr. included 12 PPTB with possitive result (after 60 doses of IPT conversion of bacterial excretion and positive dynamics according to clinical and radiological studies were determined); 2 gr. - 18 PPTB with negative result (after 60-90-120 doses of IPT persistant bacterial excretion and stable or negative dynamics werer detected); 3 gr. - 12 healthy donors. The study was performed by flow cytometry on a flow cytometer FACS Calibur. Assessment of SLA was performed by adding markers CD45+, AnnexinV FITC detection KIT I, 7AAD. Results: Comparison of SLA in groups of PPTB does not show significant (p>0.05) differences in each of the analyzes states of leukocytes, with significant (p<0.05) differences with healthy donors indicators. (Table) Conclusions: PPTB have profound impaired of immune response, because 27.1% ± 1.9% of blood leukocytes were in a state of apoptosis, of which more than half (14.7 ± 1.47%) in the initial SLA, indicating a therapeutic need for using additional immunomodulating drugs.
