Abstract

however, there was persistence of A repeat chest scan showed interval development of cavity formation with no significant change in size of the mass lesion. The patient was referred to thoracic surgery and underwent right lower lobectomy. Intra-operative findings include a well-circumscribed, white, lobulated, solid mass with dense adhesions. There was note of incomplete major fissure, recurrent posterior branch of the truncus anterior, and early take off of the middle lobe bronchus. Microscopic examination showed granuloma formation and budding yeast cells with PAS (+) fungal capsule. The patient had no significant post-surgical complications, and was discharged on the 5th day post-operatively. He is on regular out-patient follow-up with regular smoking cessation counselling.
