Respirology · 2019-11

Abstract

This study aimed to determine treatment success rate of DR-TB with HIV coinfection treatment and its related factors. Methods: This study is a retrospective study cross sectional.Data was taken from hospital medical records from 2013 to 2018 in Persahabatan hospital.Result: In this study, 63 patients are coinfection of DR-TB and HIV.Subjects were mostly men (77,8%) with mean 34,71 years, had a previous TB treatment (79,4%), total lymphocyte count (TLC) <1200 (50,8%).Subjects who successfully administered the treatment were 25,4% and the most common regimen treatment was conventional regimen (90,5%).Factors that related with the treatment success include employment (P= 0,031) and marital status (P= 0,035) while nutritional status, age, previous TB treatment, TLC, smoking history, drugs, alcohol and anaemia status did not make statistical significant. Conclusion:The treatment success of coinfection DR-TB and HIV is still remain low (25,4%) and related with employment status and marital status.
