Abstract
phosphatidylinositol phosphate synthesis and suggest a refined general catalytic mechanism-including a substrate-induced carboxylate shift-for Class I CDP-alcohol phosphotransferases, enzymes essential for phospholipid biosynthesis in all domains of life.
