Abstract
Transmission of tuberculosis (TB) from healthcare workers (HCWs) to patients is rare, especially in facilities with robust TB control programs. We describe a TB contact investigation in which a HCW with TB disease was identified and had 233 pediatric patient contacts. Two medium-risk contacts had a positive TB test but no disease. Further research is needed to refine definitions for pediatric exposures by a HCW with TB disease in healthcare settings to reduce unnecessary testing.
