Atypical Presentation of Eales Disease in a Young Woman

Purpose To report an atypical and extensive presentation of Eales' disease in a young woman, highlighting the main inflammatory and infectious differential diagnoses and emphasizing its nature as a diagnosis of exclusion. Observations Ophthalmologic examination revealed decreased visual acuity, mild hyperopic refraction, and normal intraocular pressure, with no anterior segment abnormalities. Differential diagnoses included infectious or inflammatory occlusive retinal vasculitis. Fluorescein angiography and indocyanine green angiography helped to refine the diagnosis and assess associated complications. Conclusions This case illustrates an unusual presentation of Eales' disease based on the patient's sex and emphasizes the importance of appropriate management to prevent proliferative complications leading to severe visual loss.
