Abstract
Tuberculosis is associated with enhanced tryptophan metabolism. Whether this benefits the host or the pathogen remains to be determined, but measurements of this activity in plasma may provide opportunities for nonsputum triage tests and for monitoring tuberculosis treatment responses.
