Abstract

gene sequences limited the ability to assign bacterial lineage based solely transcriptome analysis. However, rapid improvements in sequencing depth may soon allow transcriptome analysis of infecting microbes and improved certainty regarding their lineage, drug resistance, and virulence factors.
