A case of extrapulmonary tuberculosis in the practice of an infectionist

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health problem. Despite the fact that extrapulmonary damage occurs only in about 10 % of cases, the diagnosis of such forms of the disease is difficult. In Ukraine, as well as in other regions where tuberculosis is endemic, bone and neurological TB are more common in young people, while in developed countries the disease is registered primarily in the elderly. General information about the features of pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of bone and neurological forms of TB is given. A case of complicated extrapulmonary tuberculosis is described.
