Abstract

Tuberculosis is a curable infectious disease which can simulate in its peritoneal location a malignant tumor of the ovary, especially in tuberculosis endemic countries. The authors report a case of pseudo-tumoral peritoneal tuberculosis in a 42-year-old patient in whom the diagnosis of ovarian cancer with peritoneal carcinomatosis had been suspected. Exploratory laparotomy and histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of peritoneal tuberculosis. Evolution was favorable under anti-tuberculosis treatment.
