Abstract

<title>Extract</title> Bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis (CF) are characterised by chronic sputum production, airway infection and persistent neutrophilic inflammation [1–3]. Treatment of both diseases involves optimising airway clearance and antibiotic therapy directed against bacterial pathogens, which are recognised as important drivers of exacerbation and disease progression [4].
