Cycloserine-induced psychosis in patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis: A case series

Abstract

ABSTRACT Antitubercular therapy (ATT), particularly second-line drugs used in drug-resistant tuberculosis like cycloserine, is known to cause various neuropsychiatric adverse effects. These adverse effects may affect treatment adherence of the patients as well as may lead to serious life-threatening consequences. To date, very few case reports are available on cycloserine-induced psychosis. Here, we present a case series of patients with cycloserine-induced psychoses who reported to the psychiatry outpatient department with severe psychiatric disturbances. Early detection and prompt management of these psychoses is an essential step in the management of these patients.
