THE POTENTIAL OF INTRADERMAL TEST WITH RECOMBINANT TUBERCULOSIS ALLERGEN AS A PREDICTOR OF TB DEVELOPMENT IN HIV PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT IMMUNE STATUS

Abstract
We analyzed the epidemic situation of TB/HIV co-infection in Primorsky Krai in 2008–2023 and revealed the tendency towards escalation of TB/HIV co-infection, which required a detailed analysis and improved effectiveness of preventive measures against TB infection in HIV-positive people. The study established that these goals would be achieved using recombinant tuberculosis allergen (RTA – Diaskintest®) for the detection of latent TB infection in HIV-positive people. Positive reactions to RTA were observed in 23.5% of HIV patients, out of them 40% demonstrated hyperergic reactions, which allowed considering the intradermal test with RTA a criterion of screening for TB infection in HIV-positive people. We also proved the correlation between intensity of the local response to RTA and the number of CD4+ lymphocytes.
