WCN24-1827 TUBERCULOSIS –OBSERVATIONAL STUDY IN A NEPHROLOGY TERTIARY CARE CENTRE AT KIDNEY FOUNDATION HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, BANGLADESH

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the major causes of death worldwide with an estimated 10 million cases and 1.2 million deaths in 2018. About a quarter of the world’s population has been infected with M. tuberculosis. TB was the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent, ranking above HIV/AIDS up until the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. TB affects people from the entire world, but over 95% of cases and deaths are from developing countries like Bangladesh which ranked seventh in overall highest incidence.
