Comparative characteristics new cases of respiratory tuberculosis among HIV infected patients in consideration of detecting ways

Abstract

The aim of the study: to compare clinical and X-rays characteristics respiratory tuberculosis identified by screening or uptake with complains among HIV infect-ed patients. Materials and methods. Research includ-ed all new cases of respiratory tuberculosis among HIV infected patients of Leningrad district from 2014 to 2016 years. Patients had been identified by two ways: uptake with complaints and screening. Statistical evalu-ation of groups by tuberculosis signs was carried out: du-ration of HIV infection, severity of immunosuppression, extent of lung lesions, cavitations, increased lymph nodes, positive sputum smears or positive sputum cultural for tuberculosis, clinical forms and mortality during the first year treatment. Results. There are 852 HIV/TB patients included in the research. According to these ways all patients separated in two groups: pa-tients with complaints contain 454 persons (53,3%) and patients detected by screening 398 persons (46,7%). Conclusion. Our research showed that there are no any significant difference between HIV/TB patients identi-fied by these ways (by screening or uptake with com-plains) when comparing on using these tuberculosis signs.
