Abstract
Patients suffering from tuberculosis often experience failure in therapy, due to non-adherence to taking medication. An important factor in improving medication adherence is the presence of family support. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between family support and adherence to medication in pulmonary tuberculosis (pulmonary TB) patients at Puskesmas Se-Banjarmasin Tengah. This research is a non-experimentalresearch using the correlation method. The time of the study was carried out in June -July 2018. The sample of this study from January 2018 to April 2018 who treated pulmonary TB were 77 people. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling/total sampling, so the sample obtained was 33 people. The research instrument usinga questionnaire was analyzed using correlation analysis using the Chi-Square test (a<0.05). Based on the results of the study, it was shown that family support which was included in the low category was 19 people (57.6%) and those included in the high category were 14 people (42.4%). The level of compliance is mostly 18 people (54.5%) who do not comply and 15 people (45.4%). Correlation test results showed 0.000 <0.05. This shows that there is a strong relationship between family support and medication adherence in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) at the Public Health Center Banjarmasin Center Region
