Disseminated Tuberculosis Involving Lung, Peritoneum, And Endometrium In An Immunocompetent 17-year-old Patient

Abstract
Introduction: Disseminated tuberculosis involving multiple organs is rare among patients in developed countries, particularly immunocompetent patients. However, pregnancy is a risk factor for reactivation of latent tuberculosis and/or asymptomatic dissemination of primary tuberculosis. Case Description: A 17-year-old Guatemalan immigrant female, with recent history of spontaneous abortion requiring dilation and curettage at 16 weeks gestation, presented two weeks post-procedure with three days of worsening abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, and cough. Her physical exam revealed a thin appearance, hypoxia, tachypnea and suprapubic abdominal tenderness without rebound or guarding.
