Abstract

The article is devoted to the mass media coverage of medical problems, namely the problem of tuberculosis as a socially dangerous disease, a contemporary global problem. Major strategic problems in the world include the epidemiological situation regarding the spread, the increase of the first detected cases of infection of the population with tuberculosis as well as the high mortality from the untimely detected and cured cases. The detection of tuberculosis is only possible in medical institutions, which provide awareness of the disease itself and the availability of medical services to the public. Vaccination as one of the main means of preventing the disease deserves special attention. Informing the public of the need for this manipulation for improving quality of life, communication of doctors with society through the media is one of the means of preventing socially dangerous diseases (in particular tuberculosis) and the key to preserving human health. The sensitivity of the media to the coverage of vulnerable groups is necessary to prevent discrimination and hostility, and to respect human rights as basic values. Journalism in human rights protection mechanisms is of great importance to the consumer of the information product, since through communication from doctor to person, information contributes to the avoidance of a large number of factors effecting physical suffering, as well as to raising awareness of health protection through timely preventive examination. One of the main reasons for the spread of tuberculosis is the lack of public awareness, but the media, through the proper coverage of socially dangerous diseases (tuberculosis), can be particularly effective in delivering key messages to reach resonance with the public.
